Balance Training

Balance training can be key to improving safety and quality of life for elders or others with balance problems.

Balance training can include:

  • Tai Chi & Qigong (see the interventions section on Tai Chi for Fall Prevention
  • Yoga (especially standing postures)
  • Feldenkrais
  • Alexander Technique
  • Strength Training
  • Stretches (flexibility training)
  • Walking (with added challenges to balance-therapist guarding to prevent injurious fall)

Balance Training Specialist, Bill Gallagher PT, CMT, CYT provides balance work at his office at 88th and Broadway (NYC) and makes home visits (house calls) to patients on the Upper West Side (UWS) and Upper East Side (UES) of Manhattan.
