Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

The male pelvic floor muscles are active during sexual intercourse. Weak pelvic floor muscles compromise sexual function and pleasure in men and cause sexual dysfunction. Pelvic floor muscle strengthening can restore normal function. It is clear from the scientific literature that includes randomized controlled trials that weak pelvic floor muscles compromise normal pelvic floor function and lead to erectile dysfunction. Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles has been shown to significantly improve erectile function (along with post-prostatectomy urinary continence and post-micturition dribble). It is smart for all men to exercise their pelvic floor muscles to maintain normal sexual function.

The pelvic floor is comprised of muscles that are often elusive and seem beyond our conscious control. Yet, the perineum and the pelvic girdle are an integral driving force behind most human function. By bringing awareness, strength and suppleness to these muscles, men and women can alleviate pain, breathe more efficiently and increase sexual fulfillment. Bill Gallagher uses non-invasive techniques that draw from Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, Feldenkrais, Osteopathic Work including Myofascial Release & Muscle Energy Technique, and conventional rehab therapies, to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Bill helps his patients understand key anatomy, pathology, pain mechanisms, physiology, kinesiology of the pelvic floor and their interrelationship with mind-body energetics. By bridging East & West, and addressing mind & body Bill Gallagher, based in New York City (NYC) has an excellent "track record" treating erectile dysfunction with an evidence based approach.
